Holy beauty
3 October 2009Finally! I have the time to sit down and write an update. The last couple of weeks have been crazy, traveling, organizing the exhibition as well as creating some new works** I’m really looking forward to share here. But first things first: the exhibition in Rennes! To be honest I was very nervous because this was my first solo exhibition in France. I thought no one would show up, but to my surprise the place was full! At some point it was even hard to move around. It was really exciting to see my works filling up an entire place again and people looking at them, which is twice more satisfying than selling them individually.
The morning of the opening day, the team from ArtplaTV came to film while we were getting things ready, and later did a short interview. I’ll post the video here as soon as it’s ready, although it might take a while because everything was done in French and I suspect it’d be useful to add subtitles at least in English.
The exhibition presented 16 unedited drawings, along with 8 paintings. You can click here to see more pics of the event and have a look at the works. Bellow I’m posting 12 of the 16 drawings (soon I’ll upload the other 4). They are a sort of continuation of La Peregrina, a rather ambitious project inspired mainly by Colonial Latin American Arts (I’ve already ranted about this matter. If you’re interested please go here). I had several ideas in mind for new images similar to La Peregrina, and at some point I felt urged to start doing something about that. That’s how the idea of making drawings came to me. Click on the thumbnails to enlarge:
These 32 x 24 cm drawings are unique artworks, sold at a very approachable price. If you’re interested, do not hesitate to contact me.
Thanks to everyone for the good wishes and to those in Rennes who attended and made publicity. HUGE thanks to Nicolás, who helped me with absolutely everything -and more, also to Charlie and Mathilde, Le Cheval Bleu and ArtplaTV.
**My portfolio at my agent’s has been updated. You can have a look and discover some new photos I haven’t posted here yet: www.juliesagency.com/rossina.bossio

WOW! I’m in awe! It’s amazing your precision with just one drawn line and how you sculpt the human body so accurately. Those are really great hands and magical gifts!
Thank you Brad :)
Love the drawings, Rossina
