Thanks to everyone who voted for The Holy Beauty Project on 3rd Ward and helped me spread the word. The voting closed last Thursday and the results are due early September -so, fingers crossed!. Also, thank you for the kind messages/comments supporting the new project! :) (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, please read my previous post).
This blog post is the first of three I’ll write about Volume I of The Holy Beauty Project. Throughout the years I’ve been trying to become more effective in explaining my work. Although you should usually get better at things with practice, it seems I’m only getting worse at this area. After so much time working with images, words have started to appear so fragile to me. It takes me ages to write down my thoughts on my work, and after I’m done with it, I kinda feel that everything I’m saying is bullshit. But sometimes it’s mandatory to discuss things. Right now, for instance, I feel the urge to tell you a bit more about my project, no matter how much it scares me to. I’ll start talking about the paintings, then the photos, and finally the video. But before I get started, I’d like to tell you where the whole idea comes from.
