ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Holy Beauty Project is a series of artworks inspired by religious art and fashion, incorporating different media such as painting, drawing, video and performance. Merging visual elements from religious art and contemporary advertising campaigns, the artworks for the project set a parallel between ancient and current icons (celebrities, fashion models, pop and rock stars, etc), to explore the seductive power of images. Simultaneously, it aims to bring forth our inability to exist without hierarchies, and our constantly renewed need for gods/idols capable of making sense out of life’s absurdity.

The Holy Beauty Project is a satyr of seduction, a homage to my roots and the most ambitious creative journey I’ve embarked myself in. I invite you to join me!!

For this new stage of my artistic career I’ll be actively collaborating  with other artists and designers. The artworks will be organized in Volumes, each one including a filmed performance and a series of 5 to 6 paintings. Here you see the first volume, which is nearly finished (we’re still working on the original soundtrack for the video) and will be published online in two parts: 1) Video and painting 2) Photography and painting.

SUPPORT THE PROJECT: The photos and video for the first Volume were created from scratch. The goal is to create videos and performances that are more complex and sophisticated, including clothes and material made exclusively for the purpose of the project.
